You can't tell at first it's in a pool, but since you mention it...
Love how the paper is soaked through just enough, in part, by the water. It gives it an awesome look to the paper- making it look almost like the old rice paper from the old Japan. Plus, it seems to insinuate how much of Japan is covered in despair, and literally was torn away by water. The top/part out of water seems to signify a brighter hope, that this will be repaired.
Love the water stain- it looks like tears. Great effect.
The Japanese writing on the top is also a nice effect. I wish I could read it. (hinthint)
Overall, a beautiful piece that resembles Japan and it's problem perfectly. Well done once again.
This might be my favorite piece of yours. It is dark, gloomy, and depressing: exactly what it needed to be. I love the symbolism, the darkness, everything about it. Emotionally inspired pieces like this is exactly what DeviantART needs, and it's exactly what I look for in a photo and you have certainly delivered.
Normally I'd complain about the grainy colors of the paper or the totally black background, but I think that they both work very well in this piece. My only real complaint is that you didn't put what the translation was in the description, I am really curious.
